# Syncing your Microsoft 365 or Google Calendar with Slate

You can sync Microsoft 365 or Google calendars with your Slate Events, Scheduler, and Availability calendars.

## Two-way calendar integrations

Availability windows set in the *Availability*Slate tool appear in your external calendar. *Availability*also respects your external calendar’s availability.

## Syncing calendars on another’s behalf

Because users must sign in to their own calendar providers, these integrations cannot be created on another user's behalf. Each user must add the integration themselves.

See [Pull external calendar into Slate with iCal feed](https://knowledge.technolutions.net/v1/docs/slate-external-ical-integration#pull-external-calendar-into-slate-with-ical-feed) for an alternative.

> [!WARNING]
> ⚠️ Test environment note
>
> Connecting a calendar in a test environment will write real appointments to your external calendar. To avoid unexpected entries on your calendar, do not configure calendar sync in a test environment.

To add your Microsoft 365 or Google calendar to Slate:

1. From the main navigation, select **Events.**
2. Select **Calendars.**
3. Select **New Calendar.**
4. From the Service list, select your preferred calendar service:
  - **Google Calendar**
  - **Microsoft 365 Calendar**
  - **iCal Feed**
5. Select **Continue.**You are directed to your calendar service’s authorization interface.
6. Follow prompts from your calendar service. Slate never accesses your username or password. You are directed back to Slate.
7. Configure the following settings:
  - **Name:** Edit the name. Defaults to the calendar service type.
  - **Folder:**Keep calendars organized by placing yours in a folder. Select **Other** to create a new folder.
  - **Calendar:**Defaults to the main calendar. Optionally select a specific from the list.
  - **Free/Busy:** To have Slate read your external calendar's busy times and block those periods from your Availability windows in Scheduler, select *Use to determine availability and for two-way integration.*
  - **Sync Events:**To sync your assigned Slate Events and filled Scheduler slots to your external calendar, select *Use two-way integration for all events assigned to this user.* If you use Scheduler only for one-on-one appointments and do not manage Slate Events, this setting is not required.
  - **Color:** Optionally select a color for organizational purposes.
8. Select **Save.**
