💭 Questions about this integration? Reach out to the Slate Community.

Step 1: Adding the source format

This source format is used to import data returned from Banner.

  1. Go to Database → Source Format Library.

  2. Next to Axiom HE Banner to Slate Import, select Add.

  3. In the popup, select Add.

  4. In the system dialogue, select OK.

  5. Select Edit.

  6. Make any necessary changes to the source format settings.

  7. Select Save.

Step 2: Creating custom fields

Create any custom fields and prompts to track any data not represented in the source format.

The following chart shows Banner fields, data definition and corresponding Slate fields.

  • The Slate ID is a standard data field and does not need to be created in your Slate instance.

  • The other fields are custom fields.

    • If you want Slate to capture data for these fields, create custom fields.

    • Additional ID Type Code and Campus Email Type Code require prompts as well.

Once the source format has been added and custom fields and prompts created as necessary, you will be able to upload a CSV data file from Axiom and map the custom fields and prompts.

Step 3: Remap settings

The remap settings of the source format tell Slate how to process the data for the uploaded files. As with other standard source formats, standard fields have been pre-mapped, but you can adjust these standard mappings.

  1. Return to the Axiom HE Banner to Slate Import source format.

  2. Select Remap.

  3. Update the mapping:

    • If you created custom fields, add the mappings for these fields.

    • Map the source fields to the custom fields you created in the previous step.

    • Confirm and customize any destination field settings as desired.

  4. Once you are satisfied with the Remap settings, use the breadcrumb navigation to return to the source format's landing page.

  5. Select Edit.

  6. Set Remap Active to Active.

  7. Select Save.
