Slate allows for the manipulation of one or more objects at a time using Batch Management.

Using batch management

Batch management works differently depending on where you are in Slate:

  • In some functional areas, you can access batch management with ctrl/cmd + click.

  • In others, you can use Universal Batch Management, which supports keyboard shortcuts, but doesn’t require them.

Accessing Universal Batch Management

🏔️ Summit 2024 Feature

  • Use Universal Batch Management to select or deselect all objects in a list with a single click.

  • Click and drag while in Batch Mode to select a range.

To access Universal Batch Management:

  1. In a supported functional area (see availability table), select the gear icon at the top of the list of objects. A menu appears.

  2. Select one of the following options:

    • Apply Actions: Opens a popup. Select one of the supported batch management actions, then select Submit.

    • Clear Selection

    • Select All

    • Exit Batch Mode

  • You can also access batch management by using ctrl/cmd + click on an object.

  • Use ctrl/cmd + click + drag or ctrl/cmd + shift + click to select or deselect a range.

Accessing with keyboard shortcuts

  1. Select objects in one of two ways:

    • One at a Time: Use ctrl/cmd + click on an object:

    • Several at a Time: Use ctrl/cmd + click on an object, then ctrl/cmd + shift + click at the end of the range of objects you want to select.

  2. Select the gear icon.

  3. Select the Action to take, then select Submit.
