Slate provides various settings and configurations related to mailings and communications. The settings described below are used to set up a new mailing.
Setting | Description |
---|---|
Name | Give the new mailing a descriptive name so that it can be found quickly. |
Folder | Keep your communications organized by putting them in a folder. Select Other to create a new folder. |
User | Select the user who will appear as the sender of the communication. This value defaults to the currently logged in user. |
Realm | If used, allows adding functional limits to objects in predefined realms. You can leave this value blank. |
Method | Select the method of communication. If selecting Email, an option to enable UTM tracking features appears. |
Template | If using a pre-existing template, select it here. |
Opt-Out | Picking the option of Allow Unsubscribe will automatically exclude records that have the Opt Out tag set. This will also allow recipients to opt out. If all records that meet criteria are to be included regardless of opt out status, select No Unsubscribe. |
UTM Tracking | When the method "email" is selected, if desired, enable UTM tracking to append codes at the end of any URL to track clicks and performance of these communications. |
Hide from Timeline | If selected, the communication will not appear on the timeline of the receiving record. |
View in Browser | Enables a merge field for embedding a "View in Browser" link in the communication. The link allows the recipient to open the message independently in a browser. If this option is selected, an Expiration Days fields appears to define the number of days the link will function before expiring. |
