# Digital Portfolio Page

The **digital portfolio page** lets applicants upload multimedia.

## Adding the digital portfolio application page

1. Go to **Database** → **Application Editor**.
2. Select an application configuration to modify. For example, `/apply/`.
3. Select **Edit Menu**.
4. Select **Add Link**.
5. Configure the following settings:
  - **Type**: Digital Portfolio
  - **Label**: Enter a name for the application page menu item.
  - **Page, Round, and Period Keys (Optional)**: Select [page](/v1/docs/conditionally-displaying-application-pages#adding-page-keys-to-application-pages), [round](/v1/docs/creating-application-rounds#round-key), or [period keys](/v1/docs/creating-application-periods#period-key) to limit the display of the page to a specific applicant population.
6. Select **Save**.

## Configuring the digital portfolio application page

1. Drag the Digital Portfolio page to reorder its position in the menu.
2. On the the Digital Portfolio page, select **Edit**.
3. Select **General Settings.**
4. Configure the following settings:
  - **Custom Title**: Enter a page title to be displayed on the browser tab and as the heading on the page. Defaults to menu label configured in step 5 if left blank.
  - **Instructions/Upload Instructions**: Add custom instructions to the page.*****Upload Instructions*add instructional text to the *Upload Media* tab.

  - **Upload Video/Audio/Slide/Document/Link:**Enable or disable the upload of various [file types](/v1/docs/digital-portfolio#file-sizes-and-types).
  - **Year/Size/Medium/Description/Representative Work:**Show or hide metadata fields the applicant can use to add details to a given portfolio piece in the *Edit Details*popup.

5. Select **Save.**

## Applicant experience

The applicant will find the following instructional text on the **Upload Media**tab:

#### Upload instructions

1. To upload media to your digital portfolio, add the files using the "Select Files" button below and click "Start Upload." Uploading may take anywhere from seconds to several hours depending upon the size of the media file and your connection speed. If your file is large, we recommend that you upload from a wired connection if possible.
2. Once your file has been received, it will be displayed under the "Your Portfolio" tab. Your file will be processed and converted into its final form soon after uploading. Processing may take several minutes or hours depending upon the file size. You do not need to remain on this page after the media has been uploaded, as processing will occur automatically and independently.
3. You may re-order your uploaded media at any time by dragging the slides around. Please supply title and media information by clicking Edit Details.
4. Should you experience difficulties uploading your file, please ensure that you're using a modern web browser (Chrome, Firefox, or Safari) on the fastest wired Internet connection available. An intermittent or slow Internet connection can cause uploads to timeout.

#### File sizes and types

We support media files as large as 5GB, but please be advised that larger files will take longer to upload from your Internet connection and may stall if you are on a wireless connection or one that cannot sustain a connection for the necessary period of time. Uploaded documents may contain no more than 75 pages.

We support the following file formats:

| Type | Formats |

| **Video** | 3g2, .3gp, .avi, .m2v, .m4v, .mkv, .mov, .mpeg, .mpg, .mp4, .mxf, .webm, .wmv Apple ProRes is supported. |
| **Audio** | . aac, .m4a, .mka, .mp3, .oga, .ogg, .wav |
| **Slide** | .bmp, .gif, .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .tif, .tiff |
| **Document** | .doc, .docx, .odg, .odp, .odt, .pdf, .ppt, .pptx, .rtf, .wpd |
| **Link** | [Upload Link] |
