# Displaying ETS Score Reports in the Reader

ETS has embeddable score reports available for their [GRE®](https://www.ets.org/gre) and [TOEFL®](https://www.ets.org/toefl) tests that can be configured to appear as a tab in the Slate Reader. In addition to the scores, the ETS TOEFL score report provides access to hear speaking samples and view writing samples, and the GRE score report provides access to test taker photos and analytical writing essays.

## GRE Configurations

### Custom Fields

The custom field stores the GRE appointment number that is used to display the score report in a **Reader Tab**. Refer to the "Reader Tab Group" section of this article for instructions on configuring the **Reader Tab**.

To create the custom field:

1. Select **Database** on the top navigation bar and select **Fields**.
2. Select **Insert**.
3. Create a person-scoped custom field "GRE Appointment Number" with the following specifications:

[![](https://cdn.us.document360.io/cd8ea7a6-07f3-4846-a554-627ac016d3e3/Images/Documentation/tkrvk5qeuaxr7n6r4xlhqmceclip3.png)](https://cdn.us.document360.io/cd8ea7a6-07f3-4846-a554-627ac016d3e3/Images/Documentation/tkrvk5qeuaxr7n6r4xlhqmceclip3.png)
4. Select **Save**.

(Optional) If your institution receives GRE score reports associated with multiple DI Codes, create an additional person-scoped field to store the DI Code associated with the GRE Appointment Number.

### Source Format

1. Add the GRE Score Data File.

***Note****: If your institution is already importing GRE scores using one of these source formats, disregard this step.*

Add the **GRE Score Data File (Fixed Width 2017)** or **GRE Score Data File (PGP 2017)** source format from the **Source Format Library**. These source formats are identical, except that the PGP version allows you to upload encrypted files, and it will decrypt them using the PGP key that you provide.

To add the key for the PGP version of the source format:
  1. Edit the source format.
  2. Select the **Format Definition** tab.
  3. Enter the **PGP Private Key** and **PGP Password** that Slate will use to decrypt the file.

[![](https://cdn.us.document360.io/cd8ea7a6-07f3-4846-a554-627ac016d3e3/Images/Documentation/l2fus1jvkyblx39c4fanamceclip0.png)](https://cdn.us.document360.io/cd8ea7a6-07f3-4846-a554-627ac016d3e3/Images/Documentation/l2fus1jvkyblx39c4fanamceclip0.png)
2. Configure the **Remap** settings for this source format. Many standard fields are pre-mapped, including the test score data and biographical information.

Create a mapping for the **GRE Appointment Number** field created in the previous section.

***Note****: To ensure that ETS is able to display the****GRE Score Report****in the****Reader****,****Registration Number********must****be mapped as the first source field, with****Test Date****mapped as the second source field.*

[![](https://cdn.us.document360.io/cd8ea7a6-07f3-4846-a554-627ac016d3e3/Images/Documentation/hzoiuxvdv0uryqur83xdwmceclip1.png)](https://cdn.us.document360.io/cd8ea7a6-07f3-4846-a554-627ac016d3e3/Images/Documentation/hzoiuxvdv0uryqur83xdwmceclip1.png)

(Optional) If you also created a **DI Code** field, be sure to map the **Institution Code** source field to that field, using a standard mapping on the **Fields** page of the **Remap** settings.

***Note****: Use the****Unsafe Override****setting to ensure that records with active applications have the field value set by this source format.*

[![](https://cdn.us.document360.io/cd8ea7a6-07f3-4846-a554-627ac016d3e3/Images/Documentation/131ovj7scuk7l7dnmutt9gmceclip2.png)](https://cdn.us.document360.io/cd8ea7a6-07f3-4846-a554-627ac016d3e3/Images/Documentation/131ovj7scuk7l7dnmutt9gmceclip2.png)
  1. Go to the **Field Fusions** page of the **Remap** settings for the source format.

[![](https://cdn.us.document360.io/cd8ea7a6-07f3-4846-a554-627ac016d3e3/Images/Documentation/bnctsscqjectije7dh3rmqmceclip0.png)](https://cdn.us.document360.io/cd8ea7a6-07f3-4846-a554-627ac016d3e3/Images/Documentation/bnctsscqjectije7dh3rmqmceclip0.png)
  2. Create a new field fusion.
  3. Select **Registration Number**as the first source field.
  4. Select **Test Date** as the second source field.
  5. Set the custom field that you created in the previous section to store the **GRE Appointment Number** as the destination.
  6. Select **Enable unsafe import to this destination** to ensure that records with active applications will have the field set by the source format.
  7. Select **Save.**
3. ***If you are updating an existing source format, disregard this step and proceed to the next step.*** If you are using a new source format, edit the source format to set the **Remap Active** flag to **Active**. This runs the import using the **Remap** settings configured above for all files uploaded on or after the **Remap As Of Date** value.

[![](https://cdn.us.document360.io/cd8ea7a6-07f3-4846-a554-627ac016d3e3/Images/Documentation/irrhvg91km9j6rpwrahegmceclip2.png)](https://cdn.us.document360.io/cd8ea7a6-07f3-4846-a554-627ac016d3e3/Images/Documentation/irrhvg91km9j6rpwrahegmceclip2.png)
4. ***This step applies to updating an existing source format. If you are using a new format (as described in the previous step), disregard this step.***

Since you are mapping additional fields that were not previously imported, your institution may wish to import the data for previously imported records.

To import the data:
  1. Go to the **Retroactive Refresh**page of the **Remap** settings for the source format.

[![](https://cdn.us.document360.io/cd8ea7a6-07f3-4846-a554-627ac016d3e3/Images/Documentation/a1657cucteisj50eus7sgamceclip7.png)](https://cdn.us.document360.io/cd8ea7a6-07f3-4846-a554-627ac016d3e3/Images/Documentation/a1657cucteisj50eus7sgamceclip7.png)
