Article summary

This article describes various mapping destinations used for gifts. For all of the listed items that use Value Mappings, institutions can also map as Static Values, so all gifts in the group receive a particular value.

Gift Mapping Destinations

Description

Gift - Amount

The amount of the gift (for example, 50.75). This is required to create a gift.

Gift - Anonymous

Allows a gift to be set as anonymous. This uses Value Mappings, so select Yes (gift should be anonymous) or No (gift should not be anonymous) on the Value Mappings tab.

Gift - Appeal

Allows an Appeal (if any) to be set and associated with a gift. This uses Value Mappings.

Gift - Apply Relationship Soft Credits

Allows soft credits to be applied to either all living relationship records where soft credit hasn't been disabled for the relationship type OR to living relationship records where the relationship type has been configured to be selected by default for soft credits.

Gift - Apply Soft Credits by Slate ID

A person's Slate ID (or dataset key) can be mapped to this destination to apply a soft credit to that specific record. The source column can contain a pipe-delimited list of IDs if you want to apply more than one soft credit using this method. For example, "123456789|999666333" applies a soft credit to the records with 123456789 and 999666333 as the Slate ID (or dataset key).

Gift - Campaign

Allows a gift to be associated with a campaign. This uses Value Mappings.

Gift - Date

Mapping a date field to this destination sets the date of the gift. If a date is not mapped, the current date is used instead.

Gift - Date (day only)

If the file separates Day, Month, and Year into multiple columns, the (day only), (month only), and (year only) destinations can be used to map the date.

Gift - Date (month only)

Same as above.

Gift - Date (year only)

Same as above.

Gift - External ID

The external ID can be used as a unique field for matching a particular gift record. The mapped value should be unique across all gifts, pledges, and planned giving. This destination will also set the external ID if the gift record does not yet have an external ID or if the record has a different external ID (which means that the gift would have matched onto the gift record through other matching criteria).

Gift - Fair Market Value

Allows a fair market value to be set for any items received by a donor in exchange for the gift.

Gift - Fulfillment External ID

The pledge's external ID can be used to associate that pledge with the gift by mapping this destination.

Gift - Fulfillment Identity

The pledge's identity can be used to associate that pledge with the gift by mapping this destination.

Gift - Fulfillment Same Ordinal

If importing both pledge/planned giving and gift information in the same file (and pledge/planned gift #x should be fulfilled by gift #x), then this destination allows Slate to know that gift #1 is associated with pledge #1, gift #2 is associated with pledge #2, an so on.

Gift - Fund

Allows a gift to be associated with a fund. This is required to create a gift. This destination uses Value Mappings.

Gift - Honoring

Allows importing honoring information (which is imported as free text).

Gift - Identity (Matching Only)

The identity of the gift can be used as a unique field for matching a particular gift record. The identity will not be updated.

Gift - Notes

Allows for the import of gift notes.

Gift - Occasion

Allows for a gift to be associated with a particular occasion. This destination uses Value Mappings.

Gift - Opportunity External ID

The opportunity's external ID can be used to associate that opportunity with the gift by mapping this destination.

Gift - Opportunity Identity

The opportunity's identity can be used to associate that opportunity with the gift by mapping this destination.

Gift - Reverse Gift

Map to this destination to reverse the gift. This destination uses Value Mappings.

Gift - Slate GUID (matching only)

The Slate GUID of the gift can be used as a unique field for matching a particular gift record. The Slate GUID will not be updated.

Gift - Status

Map to this destination to set the status of the gift. This is required to create the gift. This destination uses Value Mappings

Gift - Type

Map to this destination to set the gift type. This is required to create the gift. This destination uses Value Mappings.

Gift - User

Map to this destination to associate a user with the gift. This destination uses Value Mappings.

Gift-scoped custom fields will appear at the end of the list as "Gift: Name of Custom Field."

Planned Gift Mapping Destinations

This category of mapping destinations does not have any unique items within it. Everything that can be mapped for Planned Gifts can also be mapped for Gifts.
