Welcome to Slate! As you begin your Slate journey we invite you to tap into one of your greatest resources: the Slate Community Forums. Whether you’re brand new or experienced, the Community Forums are a place where questions are asked, solutions are shared, and innovative ideas flourish. Here’s what you have to explore:
Lifecycle spaces

Slate supports every stage of the student journey, and the Community Forums reflect that breadth. Dedicated lifecycle spaces allow for targeted discussions about admissions & enrollment, student success, advancement, and Slate.org. In these areas, users ask questions and exchange best practices. Whether you’re fine-tuning your application process or optimizing alumni engagement, these focused spaces connect you with others facing similar challenges and opportunities.
User groups
The value of Slate is amplified by community-led user groups, both regional and functional.
Regional user groups help facilitate networking and collaboration among Slate users in the same geographical area, promoting in-person meetups and local problem-solving.
Functional user groups focus on particular interests such as training, operations, or artificial intelligence. These groups create smaller forums for deep dives, often leading to hands-on tips, resource sharing, and enduring professional relationships.
Get Inspired
Need creative fuel? The Community Forums are filled with real-world stories of how others are transforming their work with Slate. The “Get Inspired” section showcases examples from the Community of unique and innovative ways to use Slate (often including a Suitcase ID to help you import the example into your database). This is the perfect spot to explore what’s possible and take home new ideas to adapt and implement.
Events and webinar resources
The Events and Webinar Resources section in the Slate Community Forums isn’t just a calendar or a video library; it’s a hub for ongoing dialogue before and after Community Conversations where you can exchange questions, brainstorm, or share context with fellow attendees and moderators.
Community ambassadors
Community Ambassadors are at the heart of the Slate Community Forums, facilitating conversations and guiding users to helpful resources. These Slate users volunteer their time and expertise to support the Slate Community by helping to facilitate meaningful dialogue across the forums. Their experience across a wide range of Slate environments means they can connect users with relevant resources, offer real-world perspectives, and help elevate collective knowledge.
Above all, Community Ambassadors are passionate about fostering a welcoming, collaborative, and engaged environment for all. If you see a Community Ambassador badge on a profile, you can trust that they’re dedicated volunteers who are here to make your community experience richer and more rewarding!
