Article summary

Use online giving forms to collect gifts and pledges directly in Slate. Embed them on institutional web properties or include them as part of a portal.

Online giving forms must include enough person information to match the submission to an existing record — or to create a new one. At minimum, include the fields required to create a gift or pledge.

Gift fields can be user-selectable — for example, to let donors designate a fund — or hidden and pre-set to a default value, such as a Gift Status of "Received."

To process payment directly on the form, add a payment widget. It calculates the sum of gift amounts and supports ACH and credit card payments.

To accept split gifts on a single form, use Replicate Blocks.
