# Pearson PTE Integration

The [Pearson Test of English (PTE)](http://pearsonassessments.com) is a globally recognized, AI-scored assessment suite designed to measure real-world language proficiency for higher education, professional registration, and international migration. It is accepted by the governments of Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the UK for work and migration visas, and is recognized by over 4,000 institutions worldwide, including hundreds of US universities.

Test takers select a format based on their specific goals. PTE Academic is a comprehensive four-skill test for global study, professional registration, and visa applications to Australia and New Zealand. PTE Express is a focused, two-skill online assessment accepted specifically by US colleges and universities.

Results are typically delivered within two days and can be verified through the Pearson Score Report Website or direct system integrations.

You can configure Slate to receive Person PTE tests.

> [!CAUTION]
> 🔔 Important!
>
> Do not make changes to the test type.

## Step 2: Adding the Pearson PTE source format

This source format automatically fetches score results shared with your institution. To add it to your database:

1. Go to **Database** → **Source Format Library**.
2. Next to **Pearson PTE**, select **Add**.
3. Select **Edit Mappings.**
4. Configure the remap settings for the format definition.
  - Many items are pre-mapped. Feel free to customize how the data will be imported.
  - Map the custom field you created earlier.
  - Select **Unsafe Override** to ensure records with active applications have this field set by this source format.

5. Once you are finished mapping the source format, return to the the source format overview page.
6. Select **Edit.**
7. Set **Remap Active** to **Active**.
8. Select **Save.**

The import runs using your remap settings for all files uploaded on or after the **Remap As Of Date**.

> [!WARNING]
> **📝**Note
>
> While editing the **Name** and **Format** settings of the source format prevents the source format from inheriting the settings from the standard source format, the notes on the different source formats can be edited individually.
