# Homepage Builder

## Creating a homepage tab

1. Go to **Database → Tabs**.
2. Select **Insert**.
3. Configure the following settings:
  - **Status:** Active
  - **Name:** Enter a name that appears on the homepage.
  - **Scope:** Homepage
  - **Type:** Select **Report** or **Portal**.
  - **Report** or **Portal:** Select the report or portal you want to render on the homepage tab.
  - **Order:** Enter a number to represent the order of the tab in the list of homepage tabs.
4. Select **Save.**

> When selecting a type of Portal the portal needs to be an Express Portal and the Portal Security should be User.
