Gifts can be imported into Slate in batch using the Upload Dataset tool. At a minimum, the data points needed for a gift to be created and matched on a record are:

• Gift Type

• Gift Fund

• Gift Status

• Gift Amount

• Matching criteria for a record (such as Slate ID, Dataset Key, First + Last + DOB/Email)

As a matter of best practice, it is recommended that all of the additional data points about an individual gift also be included in the import. Information such as: Gift Date, Campaigns, Appeals, Soft Credit Handling, User, Occasion, etc.
