# Methods of Communication for Advancement

Slate Deliver is a mass communication tool. It is used to create and manage outreach campaigns. Send communications through a variety of methods, including:

#### Email

- Individual and Ad-Hoc
- Blast and Recurring
- Drip Campaigns
- Inbound Communications

#### Text Messaging

#### Print Mailings

- Postcards
- Letters

#### Social Media

- Facebook
- Twitter

#### Telecom (Voice Calling)

These types of communication methods can be utilized in three primary categories of messages in Slate:

- **Transactional:** communications associated with a form or event. These types of messages are triggered in relation to an action taken by an end user, such as a form submission or hours before/after an event
- **System:** automatic emails that are sent when certain actions occur such as: password reset, payment refunded, and recurring credit card payment failure
- **Marketing**: programmatic, stewardship, and engagement messages
