Payments and gifts are related, but are separate entities within Slate. A single payment or transaction can have multiple gifts associated with it.

For example, a donor may designate gifts across multiple funds. They may wish to designate $100 to an annual fund and $50 to a restricted scholarship fund. These two gifts could be processed in a single transaction of $150 - paid via ACH or Credit Card.

This one-to-many relationship allows for a smooth donor experience when directing their giving.

Slate will send system emails as they relate to Slate Payments based on a set of triggers. Many of these mailings can be customized, and some emails need to be configured using Deliver in order to send.
