# Phase I: Preparation

A successful implementation begins with preparation.

## Preparation steps

In Phase I, you’ll complete **three critical preparation steps** to lay the foundation for your implementation:

1. **Establish your Slate team** and steering committee.
2. **Get Slate Certified** by taking the Fundamentals of Admission and Enrollment course.
3. **Review your current processes.**
