Article summary

When reviewing an record in the Reader, you can open either the entire Reader Tab Group (all tabs in the left-side navigation) or just the currently selected Reader Tab in a new browser tab.

This makes it easy to view multiple components of an record at the same time — ideal for split-screen comparisons or reviewing materials side-by-side.

To pop out a Reader Tab Group or a single Reader Tab:

  1. Select Reader from the top navigation bar.

  2. Open the desired application.

  3. Click the three-bar menu in the upper-right corner of the Reader.

  4. Choose one of the following options:

  • Pop Record – Opens the entire Reader Tab Group in a new browser tab.

  • Pop Tab – Opens only the currently viewed Reader Tab in a new browser tab.

  • Share – Opens the Share tab to begin a Share session.

  • Exit Reader – Returns to the Slate database homepage.

You can also locate specific records using the Quick Search box to the left of the menu.

Tip

To view parts of the application side by side, drag the new tab into a new browser window.

  • Mac - For Macs, hold down the Full Screen button and as the window shrinks, drag it to the left or right side of the screen.

  • Windows - For Windows, hold down the Windows button and press the left or right arrow key.
