Query export time zones add per-export control over how date and time values appear in query output. If a recipient expects exported timestamps in a specific time zone, such as your database time zone or a vendor-required time zone, this lets you accommodate their expectations.
Setting a query export’s time zone
Go to Queries / Reports.
Open a query that contains an export with a Format Type of Date/Time.
Select Edit for the export.
Configure the following settings:
Time Zone: Select the time zone that should appear in the exported value.
Time Zone (Source): If Slate cannot infer the source time zone for the value, select the time zone that the stored value should be interpreted in before conversion.

Select Save.
To test immediately, return to the query summary and select Run Query. To send the export on a schedule, select Schedule Export from the query editor.
Review the query output or exported file to confirm that the value appears in the expected time zone.
📝 Note
Time zone conversion affects the exported value only. It does not change the stored date or time value in Slate.
Choosing source and display time zones
Slate converts the value from the source time zone to the display time zone. Slate can infer the source time zone for some system-defined values. If the export comes from a value where the source time zone is not known, such as a custom field, specify the source time zone in the export settings.
Use the display time zone to define the time zone that should appear in the exported file.
Examples
Send event times to a partner in the event-local time zone so campus visit schedules are interpreted correctly.
Export advising appointment timestamps in the institution time zone for a central analytics team.
Convert gift activity timestamps to the time zone expected by a campaign vendor.
