# Refreshing Field and Prompt Caches

When you make new fields or prompts and try to access them right away, you might notice they don’t appear.

This is because Slate caches form and import destinations to improve performance. In production environments, cached values are refreshed approximately every 5 minutes.

To access newly created fields or prompts immediately, you can **“refresh the triad”**: the **prompt** cache, the **field** cache, and the **Configurable Joins library**.

To refresh the triad:

1. From the main navigation, select **Database.**
2. Under Queries, select **Refresh Configurable Joins Library.**Confirm in the pop up you would like to refresh. ![Refresh Configurable Joins Library](https://cdn.us.document360.io/cd8ea7a6-07f3-4846-a554-627ac016d3e3/Images/Documentation/Refresh Configurable Joins Library.png)
3. From the main navigation, select **Database.**
4. Under Records and Datasets, select **Prompts.**
5. Click the link in the description on the sidebar to refresh the prompt cache.

1. Navigate back to the page you were just on and on the right sidebar, select **Fields.**
2. Click the link in the description to manually refresh the field cache.
