The report widget lets you embed reports, including charts, graphs, heat maps, in any portal.
Portals are live data, not points in time.
Their data can be personalized to the user with parameters.
Creating a report in a portal
First, your portal must contain at least one report.
➡️ Follow steps in Creating a Custom Portal to create a new portal report.
Adding a report widget to a portal view
In a view, select the Report widget from the palette. Select once to insert it at the bottom of your view, or select and drag to a desired location.
Configure the following settings:
Name: Enter a name for the widget.
Status: Set to Active.
CSS Class Name: Add an optional CSS class name for targeting by custom CSS rules.
Report: Select a report created in the portal from the list.
Filters: Create filters to determine who should be able to see the report. See the next section for more detail.
Viewing the report
Any user or record with access to the portal can view the report, regardless of the report’s sharing permissions or the user’s account privileges.
You can conditionally display or hide the report using filters on the report part in the portal view configuration. This does not apply to portals with a security setting of Anonymous/Guest.
The filters to conditionally show a report in a portal are also dependent on the portal's security setting. For example, if it is set to User, the filters available are user-scoped, like role or user ID. If the security type is Dataset, the filters will be the filters available in your Slate database for that particular dataset.
🔔 Do not include sensitive data in reports embedded in portals with the Anonymous/Guest security type.
