Slate uses session timeouts for authenticated users to prevent unauthorized access to your Slate database.
Session timeouts
After 55 minutes of inactivity, the user receives a timeout warning. They can select Extend to reset the timer.
After 60 minutes of inactivity, the user’s session expires and is terminated. The must re-authenticate to start another session.
Troubleshooting session timeouts
On rare occasions, discrepancies between the clock on the web server providing Slate content and the clock on the local workstation can inadvertently trigger a "session expired" condition that apparently cannot be resolved.
To avoid this:
Disable all browser extensions, clear your browser's cache, or try a different browser.
Slate checks the timestamp from your local machine against the Technolutions server time to prevent replay attacks. You may need to confirm your local machine computer clock is accurate.
📝 If policies prevent you from modifying your workstation's system settings, troubleshooting may require contacting IT.
