Requirements

Achieve 100 certification points through the following activities:

  • Complete a Slate Certified Fundamentals learning path (50 points)

  • Register for Summit (50 points)

  • Attend Slate Labs (30 points)

  • Complete a Slate Certified Fundamentals learning path (30 points)

  • Complete Continuing Education courses (20 points)

  • Present or moderate a Slate-hosted webinar (20 points)

  • Host a Community Conversation (20 points)

  • Present at Summit (20 points)

  • Moderate a Summit Affinity Group (10 points)

  • Attend a Slate-hosted webinar (10 points)

Cost

$595/person ($495 when bundled with a Summit Registration)

Timeline

Start date

The Slate Certified cycle begins in October alongside the launch of Slate Summit registration. During this time, Slate Certified registrants will receive access to the appropriate Slate Certified Fundamentals learning path(s) and Continuing Education courses.

Regardless of the registration date, Slate Certified Professional registrants will begin accruing Slate Certified points on October 1st.

End Date

The Slate Certified cycle ends on December 31st of the certification year. On this date, Learning Lab access will be revoked and certification points will stop accruing for the year.

Users who register for the following year’s certification (beginning in October 1st) will receive access to that year’s Slate Certified Fundamentals path(s) and Continuing Education Courses.

Registration, Waivers, & Access

Registration

Users may self-register for Slate Certified once their institutional Security Administrator grants them access to their Slate database. To register for a certification package or see if waivers remain for your database:

  • Select the Database icon in the top navigation

  • Search for, or scroll down to, "Learning Lab."

  • Select "Register", and fill out the registration form with the appropriate information.

Waivers

Three complimentary Slate Certified Fundamentals registrations are provided with each Slate database.

Upon checking out during registration for Slate Certified Fundamentals, if any of the three complimentary registrations are still available, it will be displayed as a choice in the dropdown menu. If all three complimentary registrations have been used, registrants can pay with a credit card or opt for an invoice.

Access

Access to Learning Lab is immediate upon registration and available until December 31st of the certification year.

To access Learning Lab:

  1. From the main navigation, select Database.

  2. Under Support Resources, select Learning Lab.

  3. Next to your Slate Certified registration, select Enter Learning Lab. If you have not yet registered, it will appear as Register.  

  4. Slate Certified Fundamentals users can find the Slate Certified Fundamentals path in the ‘My Training’ section of their Learning Lab Homepage, and the Continuing Education courses in the Content Library under ‘Collections’.

    Slate Certified Professional users can find all of their associated Learning Lab content in the Content Library within the Slate Certified Professional collection.
