Article summary

A Snapshot of a Slate resource is created when you make a change to that resource. Snapshots create a complete capture of the resource as it existed at the moment it was updated.

  • You can revert resources to any Snapshot version.

  • 📸 Reverting to a prior Snapshot creates a new Snapshot of your most recent configuration, in case you change your mind.

  • ✏️ All changes made using Snapshots appear in user audit logs in real-time.

Viewing Snapshots

Snapshots are available in:

📣 Deliver mailings

From the main navigation, select Deliver. Select a mailing, or create a new one. At right, select the arrow next to Edit. Select Snapshots.

📂 Source Formats

Access source format snapshots in one of two ways:

Via Source Formats

  • From the main navigation, select Database. Under Import and Data Processing, select Source Formats. Select a source format, or create a new one. At right, select Snapshots.

Via Upload Dataset

  • From the main navigation, select Database. Under Import and Data Processing, select Upload Dataset. Select a source. To the right of Format, select your format. At right, select Snapshots.

🔍 Queries

From the main navigation, select Queries / Reports. Select a query, or create a new one. At right, select Edit Query. Select Snapshots.

📄 Forms

From the main navigation, select Forms. Select a form, or create a new one. At right, select Edit Form. Select Snapshots.

From the list of available Snapshots, select the one you’d like to view. The resource appears as it was at the moment the Snapshot was created.

Tip

Open the individual elements of a resource, like form field, or a query (or subquery) parts, to see read-only views of those elements as they were.

Reverting Snapshots

In a Snapshot, select Revert. A popup appears. Confirm your choice, and note that your current version is also saved as a Snapshot before the reversion takes place.
