# The Release Decisions Tool

Once provisional decisions are assigned, the **Release Decisions** tool can be used to confirm decisions, assign decision letters, and release decisions.

Go to **Database** → **Release Decisions**. The Overview page updates regularly to display important decision statistics, including the number of applications at each stage in the release process, decision receipt statistics, login data by browser and location, and more.

The **Stages**on the right display the decision release steps in a chronological workflow order. Click through the following tabs to learn more about each stage:

## Confirm

This stage allows you to view records with a **provisional decision**. Select multiple decisions from the list at once to batch confirm provisional decision assignments.

## Assign letters

This stage allows you to view **confirmed decisions** that have not been assigned a letter. Select multiple decisions to batch assign decision letters for records with a confirmed decision.

## Release

This stage allows you to view **confirmed, unreleased decisions**. Select multiple decisions to batch schedule the date and time at which the decisions should be released to applicants.

## Queued for release

This stage allows you to view decisions **scheduled for future release**.

If you need to stop a decision from being released, you can select one or multiple decisions that are scheduled for a future release to **unrelease**.

> 🔔 Important
> 
> Any actions taken by rules as a result of decisions being scheduled for release will not be undone if the release is unscheduled. **Unreleasing decisions should only be used in an emergency.**

## Recently Released

This stage displays **recently released decisions**. When recipients receive their decision, the Received Date (ET) field will populate with the date and time of opening in Eastern Time.
