🏗️ Provisional document

This feature is pending release, and this document may change over time. Check What’s New for the latest releases.

AI chat bot conversation history lets staff review recent conversations from web-embedded and SMS-connected AI chat bots. Conversation history can help you identify common questions, refine bot instructions, and update knowledge sources when users are not getting the help they need.

Reviewing recent conversations

  1. Go to DatabaseBots.

  2. Select the AI chat bot that you want to review.

  3. From the Recent Conversations list, select a conversation.

Review the conversation list for timestamp, associated record (if one exists), method (web or SMS), and referring URL, if applicable.

Examples

Use repeated questions, unclear answers, or missing information to update the bot instructions or related knowledge sources.

Review bot conversations before application deadlines to determine whether prospective students are asking about portfolio requirements. Update the bot’s knowledge source with clearer portfolio instructions depending on conversation content.

Review advising bot conversations for any repeated questions about registration holds, then update internal guidance and the bot’s knowledge source so that it can point students to the right next step.

Review alumni chat conversations following a giving campaign for any repeated questions about employer matching gifts, then add matching gift information to the bot’s knowledge source.
