Slate Certified is a comprehensive professional development offering that lets Slate users showcase their commitment to the ongoing advancement of product knowledge and experience. Currently, Technolutions offers the following certification levels:

The offerings, requirements, and cost for each certification level are outlined below.

Requirements: Before December 31st of the certification year, pass the Slate Certified Professional Assessment and Achieve 100 certification points through any combination of the following activities:
Completing a Slate Certified Fundamentals learning path (30 points each)
Registering for Summit (30 points)
Attending Slate Labs (20 points each)
Completing Continuing Education courses (10 points each)
Presenting or moderating a Slate-hosted webinar (15 points each)
Hosting a Community Conversation (15 points each)
Presenting at Summit (20 points each)
Moderating a Summit Affinity Group (10 points each)
Attending a Slate-hosted webinar (5 points each)
Moderating a Community User Group (10 points each)
Posting in the Get Inspired Community Forum Space (5 points each)
Cost: $595/person ($495 when bundled with a Summit Registration)
Start date
The Slate Certified cycle begins in October alongside the launch of Slate Summit registration. During this time, Slate Certified registrants will receive access to the appropriate Slate Certified Fundamentals learning path(s) and Continuing Education courses.
Regardless of the registration date, Slate Certified Professional registrants will begin accruing Slate Certified points on October 1st.
End Date
The Slate Certified cycle ends on December 31st of the certification year (e.g: Slate Certified 2026 ends Dec. 31st 2026). While Learning Lab access may extend beyond this period, points and activities achieved after this date no longer count toward the certification.
Users who register for the following year’s certification (beginning in October 1st) will receive access to that year’s Slate Certified Fundamentals path(s) and Continuing Education Courses.
Expiration
The Slate Certified 2026 credential is valid until December 31st 2027.
Registration
Users may self-register for Slate Certified once their institutional Security Administrator grants them access to their Slate database.
To register for a certification package or see if waivers remain for your database:
Select the Database icon in the top navigation
Search for, or scroll down to, "Learning Lab."
Select "Register", and fill out the registration form with the appropriate information.

Waivers
Three complimentary Slate Certified Fundamentals registrations are provided with each Slate database.
Upon checking out during registration for Slate Certified Fundamentals, if any of the three complimentary registrations are still available, it will be displayed as a choice in the dropdown menu.
If all three complimentary registrations have been used, registrants can pay with a credit card or opt for an invoice.
Access
Access to Learning Lab is immediate upon registration and available for one year from the date of registration or until December 31st of the certification year (whichever is longer).
To access Learning Lab:
From the main navigation, select Database.
Under Support Resources, select Learning Lab.
Next to your Slate Certified registration, select Enter Learning Lab. If you have not yet registered, it will appear as Register.
Slate Certified Fundamentals users can find the Slate Certified Fundamentals path in the ‘My Training’ section of their Learning Lab Homepage, and the Continuing Education courses in the Content Library under ‘Collections’.
Slate Certified Professional users can find all of their associated Learning Lab content, including the Slate Certified Professional Assessment, in the Content Library within the Slate Certified Professional collection.

Community profile
Upon registration for Slate Certified, users will be given access to the “My Slate Certified” tab within their Community Profile. This will provide a catalog of achieved certifications as well as progress and status information for active certifications.
Tracking your progress
For Certified Professional users, point categories and totals will update on a nightly basis until the certification is achieved.

For Certified Fundamentals users, progress can be tracked directly in Learning Lab by viewing the appropriate Slate Certified learning path.
Upon completion of the certification requirements (provided no payment is pending) the Community Profile tab will populate with a user’s certification badge as well as options to download their certificate and add their certification to LinkedIn.

Sharing Your Credentials
Users may add their certifications to their LinkedIn profile by clicking the “Add to Profile” button and logging in to LinkedIn.
Once logged in, the appropriate credential information appears, and users can click “Save”.

To download a copy of your certificate, click the “Download Certificate” button, and click the certificate image to download a local copy.
