Scoir Handraisers Import

Prev Next

Scoir is where nearly one million students—and 1 in 8 U.S. high schools—turn for college and career planning, using the platform to discover colleges, compare options, and build balanced college lists alongside their counselors. Colleges that partner with Scoir move beyond awareness to build a pipeline of high-intent students, converting interest into action through timely, in-app engagement.

Scoir Handraisers capture students who have opted in to share their interest with your college, giving you a direct connection to motivated prospective applicants.

The Scoir Handraisers source format pulls new records of student interest into Slate through a nightly import.

What you’ll do

  1. Create a Scoir ID field (if one does not already exist)

  2. Add the Scoir Handraisers source format

  3. Create custom fields (if necessary)

  4. Configure the Scoir Handraisers source format

  5. Activate the Scoir Handraisers source format

Step 1: Creating a Scoir ID field

If your institution already receives data from Scoir from the source formats Scoir or ScoirMaterials, you likely have a field established for Scoir ID.

First, check if you have a Scoir ID field in Database → Fields. Use the Search Fields bar to look for any fields with scoir in their name or field ID. If you find a Scoir ID field, go to Step 2: Adding the source format.

If you don't have a Scoir ID field:

  1. Go to Database → Fields.

  2. Select New Field.

  3. Configure the following settings:

    • Status: Active

    • Scope Category: Records

    • Scope: Person

    • ID: scoirID

    • Name: Scoir ID

    • Folder: Keep fields organized by placing them in a folder. Create a new folder by selecting Other and entering a name.

    • Category: Select or create an optional field category.

    • Field Type: Free Text

    • Unique for Merging: Value contains a unique ID which identifies a single record for merging.

  4. Select Save.

  5. Select the link in the sidebar to refresh the fields cache.

Step 2: Adding the source format

This source format is used to import data of new student interest on Scoir through a nightly import.

Step 3: Creating custom fields

Create any custom fields and prompts to track any data not represented in the source format.

Create custom fields and prompts in Slate to capture the following additional Scoir source fields:

  • College_Name

  • Attends_Scoir_School

  • Academic_Focuses
