🏔️ Summit 2026 Feature

Build report visualizations from natural-language prompts.

Slate AI Data Explorer adds an AI-powered explorer part to Data Explorer reports. After you define the report data, prompt Slate AI to create charts, tables, summaries, and interactive slicers that can be saved as part of the report.

Creating an AI Data Explorer part

  1. Go to Queries / Reports.

  2. Select the report you want to edit, or create a new report.

  3. Add a Data Explorer section, or open an existing Data Explorer section.

  4. Configure the exports and filters that should provide data for the report part.

  5. Add an AI Explorer row.

  6. Enter a title.

  7. Open Slate AI.

  8. Enter a prompt that describes the chart, table, dashboard, slicers, labels, or styling you want Slate AI to create.

  9. Wait while Slate AI reviews the report configuration and builds the visualization.

  10. Review the generated output.

  11. Prompt Slate AI again to adjust the visualization, then save the report part when it is ready.

Refining the output

Use follow-up prompts to change the visualization after Slate AI creates the first version. For example, ask Slate AI to switch chart types, add slicers, adjust labels, change the summary, or highlight a different group.

Using the report

After you save the AI Data Explorer part, the output works as part of the report. The report continues to use current report data when it is rendered and can be shared through normal report workflows.
