Create pre-made, one-click prompts and system instructions for Slate AI.

Slate AI Snippets let Slate Admins:

  • Set up context-aware, pre-made prompts that users can ask Slate AI with a single click:

  • Establish system-wide instructions that inform every subsequent prompt to Slate AI:

For both kinds of snippets, you decide whether the prompt is global, applies only to HTML editing contexts, or only in the Reader.

Creating a new Slate AI snippet

To create a new Slate AI snippet:

  1. Go to Database → Slate AI Snippets.

  2. Select Insert.

  3. Configure the following settings:

    • Status: Active

    • Type: Select one of the following:

      • Snippet: Select to create a snippet, a clickable, pre-made prompt that appears above the text entry box in Slate AI.

      • System Instructions: Select to establish a new baseline instruction to be adhered to in requests to Slate AI.

    • Name: Enter a name for the snippet.

    • AI Prompt: Enter the prompt that Slate AI should follow. Examples:

      • Snippet: Check to make sure the HTML is mobile responsive and update to be mobile responsive if not.

      • System instruction: Always write back in the tone of a pirate.

    • Context: Select one of the following:

      • Global: The snippet or system instruction applies anywhere the user opens Slate AI.

      • HTML: The snippet or system instruction applies only when the user is in an HTML editing context, like when editing a portal view or a mailing. For example, create a snippet that formats a mailing for tone and for mobile responsiveness at the same time.

      • Reader: The snippet or system instruction applies only when the user is in the Reader. For example, create a snippet that performs a GPA recalculation from a transcript.

    • Path Match: Further target the context in which the snippet should apply by entering a relative URL path. For example, /manage/inbox presents the snippet or applies the system instruction only in Inbox.

  4. Select Save.
