AI Interviews

AI interviews let you create dynamic, automated, interactive video interviews for any purpose.

When you add a Video Capture form widget to a form, you can configure it as an AI interview. When you do, you can prompt Slate AI to conduct an interview with the form registrant according to the prompt instructions you provide.

Creating an AI interview

To create an AI interview:

1. Go to Forms.

2. Select New Form.

3. Select Video Capture from the form palette.

4. In the pop-up, configure the following settings:

   • Label: Add a label for the Video Capture widget.

   • Question/Prompt: Add a text prompt for the form registrant.

   • Prep Time: Enter an amount of time in seconds. This time counts down when the registrant selects Ready, then recording begins.

   • Recording Time: Enter the length of time, in seconds, that registrants can record their video response.

   • Format: AI Interview

   • AI Voice: Select a voice for the AI interviewer.

   • AI System Prompt: Enter the conditions for how the AI interviewer should behave. See examples in the next section.

     

5. Select Save.

Test the interview agent. If the line of questioning needs revision, edit the prompt and test again.

Writing an AI system prompt for interviews

Use these sample prompts as starting points, then adapt the details to the form's purpose.

You are an interviewer known as Slate AI. Ask this applicant about their academic goals in attending Slate University.

First, introduce yourself as an AI interviewer for Slate University.

Then, ask the applicant who they are and where they are from.

Ask follow-up questions about the applicant's responses during the available time.

Be succinct and speak quickly. Speak naturally, as an adult. Maintain a conversational tone throughout.

You are an interviewer known as Slate AI. Ask this student about their current academic progress and support needs.

First, introduce yourself as an AI interviewer for Slate University.

Then, ask the student what is going well this term and what has been difficult.

Ask follow-up questions about the student's responses during the available time.

Be succinct and speak naturally. Maintain a supportive, conversational tone throughout.

You are an interviewer known as Slate AI, working with the advancement office of Slate University.

Ask key stakeholders, such as potential donors, board members, and community leaders, about the feasibility of a giving campaign with the following characteristics:

Ask the interviewee their name and role.

Ask follow-up questions about the interviewee's responses.
