Article summary

You can create a dashboard to add context to records being compared in the Consolidate Records tool.

Creating a Consolidate Records dashboard

To create a new dashboard:

  1. Go to Database → Dashboards.

  2. Click New Dashboard.

  3. Configure the following settings:

    • Status: Defaults to Active; deactivate dashboards to hide them from the Consolidate Records interface.

    • Name: Enter a short, descriptive name, like Consolidate records.

    • Type: Consolidate Records

    • Base: Select a query base from among the datasets in your database. The dashboard appears in the Compare interface for candidate records of that dataset.

  4. Click Save.

If you create more than one active Consolidate Records dashboard for a single base, these dashboards appear in the order in which they were created.

Editing the dashboard

To populate the dashboard with information about the record being consolidated, you must:

  1. Create a query to pull data related to the record

  2. Configure the dashboard appearance

Both of these steps are described in Dashboards → Editing a dashboard.

Configure the Dashboard

To see your dashboard in action:

  1. Go to Database → Consolidate Records.

  2. Select candidate records from the base you chose for the dashboard.

  3. Select Compare for two records.

  4. The Dashboard appears at the top.
